So, I’ve had some points laying around on the Virtual Console system that the Wii has. Today I finally used the rest of my points to pick up a new game. I went with a game that I used to play the hell out of. This game was the Contra III title. The first Contra was definitely a classic, but Contra III was also a really nice game in my eyes. If you haven’t played it, I would suggest giving it a play. It’s well worth the 800 Wii Points that you’re charged for it.

When I got a chance to play Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64, I loved it. Even though I only played an hour or two of the game, I become quite hooked. After moving out of a friends house I no longer had access to the game. Today, Super Paper Mario for the Nintendo Wii came out and it’s even better than the original. I’ve probably played it for about an hour or so but holy crap it’s awesome. If you’ve got a Wii and want to invest in a new game, this is the one. It beats any other game I’ve played for the Wii so far.

Today while I was running around I decided to pay off the pre-order for Wii Play and put in a pre-order requested for Cooking Mama: Cook Off. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a game that it similar to WarioWare in terms of its interaction with items on the screen but it revolves around cooking. For example you can shred things, chop vegetables, cut meat, and a whole list of other things. It might sound lame to some but I’m pretty sure it’s going to rock hard. The only down side to it is that it won’t release until March 27 so there’s a good two months until we can expect it. Oh well, it gives me time to save up the cash for it.

The week’s at its end and I’ve finally had time to play WarioWare: Smooth Moves. Wow. The mini-games that you play rock it hard. During the first time around you play until you beat the boss and then open up more levels to play. But if you go back to the levels you’ve beat then you can go even further and play additional games.
Luckily my rechargeable batteries are doing well and holding out during my game play. I had doubts at first because they die quickly with my digital camera but now I’m beginning to think that it just eats batteries.

Ware Ware: Smooth Moves came out for the Wii on January 15, 2007. Yesterday during my lunch break I picked up my reserved copy at EB Games. I only got to play for a short period of time since the batteries that came with the Wii died but it’s great fun so far. My rechargeable batteries were getting charged last night so let’s hope they’ve got enough juice to last a while.

Today the Virtual Console system for the Nintendo Wii saw the release of three new games. The new games are:
- Xevious, originally on the NES. Costs 500 Wii points.
- R-Type III: The Third Lightning, originally on the SNES. Costs 800 Wii points.
- Moto Roader, originally on the TurboGrafx-16 system. Costs 600 Wii points.
None of these games I’m going crazy over but if I’m ever bored I might grab one or two of them.

Only a few days left until Wario Ware: Smooth Moves comes out for the Nintendo Wii. I pre-ordered the game a couple of weeks ago. The sales associate from EB Games told me that the game is going to be shipping on Monday the 15th of January, 2007 and arrives Tuesday the 16th of january, 2007. If you haven’t experienced the game for Nintendo DS or any other Nintendo system you need to check this one out - if you have a Wii that is.

If you’ve got a Wii and you’ve downloaded the free Opera browser for it, then check out WiiCade.com. It’s a site with a bunch of Flash-based games that you can easily play from your Wii’s browser. I’ve only played a few of ‘em but I’ve been hooked ever since Ashley told me about it.

Last Saturday I went to Best Buy prior to getting the group’s pizza and picked up Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii. Wow. I managed to stay up until about 5:00AM Saturday night / Sunday morning because I got so in to the game.
The other game that Katie really seems to be enjoying is Trauma Center: Second Opinion. The whole idea of the game is that you’re a surgeon that has recently completed his residency and you’re learning the ropes. At one point you find out you have these crazy magic powers called “the healing touch”.

Today, it finally happened. I got my Nintendo Wii. I may have paid a little over what it would generally cost in stores but it’s absolutely worth it. Katie got Excite Truck for me so I’ve been playing that mostly. But after dinner today I ran to Best Buy and picked up Trauma Center: Second Opinion. It might sound boring but it’s really fun. You get to perform operations on people, taking things out and such. Good times. I think I might do a little of the Wii Sports later. Tomorrow I might go to Best Buy in hopes of finding a second controller so some multiplayer action can get started. With any luck the girl I spoke with at Best Buy will be correct and they will get some in tomorrow.
