To those that don’t already have a Zune or those that are planning on upgrading theirs, here’s some news for you. Microsoft has announced a new set of Zunes to be released in the near future. The new series of Zunes are expected to feature 4GB, 8GB, and 80GB storage capacities and will cost $150, $200, and $250, respectively. Considering that fact that the 80GB Zune is only $250 than the 4GB, why wouldn’t you pay an extra $100 to get twenty times the amount of storage space? With my existing iPod slowly fading away, I really may be in the market for a new Zune. If anyone has any thoughts on how much you like or dislike your Zune, please let me know. I need some perspective on the Zune so I can know what to look for.

Having good home insurance is important, but having better car insurance is often much more important as the conditions are often much more unpredictable. On my morning commutes to work or my drive back home, I generally see at least one or two car accidents. To me, that’s a lot of accidents that are happening on the road within a given day. This is why I feel that car insurance is such a requirement for making sure that your investment isn’t totaled, leaving you with even more bills to pay. What I find is a best practice for insuring one’s self is to compare rates online to see what cheap car insurance are available to you based on your qualifications. I did just that and have been saving pretty substantial amounts of money ever since.

I’m gonna have to say that this isn’t the most pointless patent I’ve ever seen but it definitely ranks up their as moderately pointless. IBM has apparently patented the ability to select or deselect a check box that puts an x or removes an x from the box when clicked. For those that might be curious for whatever reason, the patent goes by number 7,278,116. You can get even more information on the patent on the United States patent website by going here. I haven’t the slightest clue what IBM is attempting to accomplish with this and in general, I don’t particularly care. Congratulations on the pointless patent IBM.

While looking for a faucet to potentially replace my existing kitchen sink faucet, I came upon Faucet.com that has loads of faucets (not just for the kitchen) and saw some really nice bar faucets that are available. Some people might think they have an awkward design, but I have to say that they look very convenient, especially when it comes down to cooking. Trying to clean off fruits and vegetables or doing dishes can make for a very tight squeeze when all you have is the standard, run of the mill kitchen faucet. The bar faucets are raise pretty high which alleviates the constant bumping of items into the faucet.
At this point I have it narrowed down to a couple of different faucets on the Faucet.com website so I should have a final decision very soon. But if any of my readers are looking for a new faucet (for any room in their house), be sure to visit the Faucet.com site for tons of ideas.

A release on the sciencedaily.com website discusses the possibility of alzheimer’s being the third form of diabetes. This idea was conceived after determining that insulin brain signaling is important for the formation of memory. As Alzheimer’s disease develops in a person, the insulin brain signaling functionality stops working. Northwestern University scientists are working to further prove this theory in hopes of preventing or maybe even curing Alzheimer’s disease. I’ve personally been lucky enough to have family members that haven’t suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, but hopefully this scientific development will help the countless others that are currently suffering or could potentially suffer from the disease.

For all of the Intel fanboys out there, news of the new 45nm processors has leaked like every other technological breakthrough does. The leak reports that the new processors are expected to release around November 12, 2007. The processors are going by the name of Yorkfield and Wolfdale and sound as though they’re going to blow existing processors out of the water. Aside from their insanely small size, they expected to be multicore processors with a total of 12MB in the L2 Cache. While I’m generally an AMD kind of guy, I have to say that these processors are giving me some motivation to build a new computer with the Intel chips. I’m sure they won’t be cheap at first but the performance on these guys would definitely be well worth it.

A few years ago a couple of my friends moved to the Raleigh, NC area and ever since I make sure that I go visit at least once a year. Each time I visit it’s like visiting for the first time. There are just so many things to do that it’s hard to do them is such a short period of time. Luckily for my readers, you’ve come upon a chance to win a FREE Raleigh Getaway by going to the VisitRaleigh.com website to enter in the Fall Getaway contest.
The winner of the contest gets some really amazing prizes. As the winner, you will receive free hotel accommodations, a gift certificate, and numerous tickets to theatre, museum, and art establishments. I’ve personally been to the Dinosaurs: Ancient Fossils, New Discoveries at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences and it is by far the best prehistoric presentation that a museum has ever laid out. But if you’re someone that prefers the arts or taking in a show, then I think you’ll feel just a welcome to Raleigh, NC when using your tickets to see something along the lines of Carolina Ballet’s Carmina Burana, a production that’s received some outstanding reviews.
You only have everything to gain and have absolutely nothing to lose by entering this contest. Be sure to visit the VisitRaleigh.com website for even more information on the fun and exciting places you can go in Raleigh, NC. Good luck!

As many of the Google fans out there know, Google now has a “Street View” feature on Google Maps that allows you to go through the streets of a city. This allows you to get a much better idea of what an area looks like instead of only seeing an areal view. Well, to expand on the popularity of the “Street View” feature, Google is considering a Canadian release of it but on Canadian terms. By this I mean that the privacy of Canadian citizens will be protected by blurring out the faces of Canadians in addition to their license plates. I enjoy the fact that Canada is so dedicated to the privacy of its citizens, but it’s much more enjoyable that Google has decided to follow Canadian law and respect its many citizens. Another soon-to-be win for Google.

While I’ve been lucky enough to say that I’ve never needed to make a claim with my insurance company, just having the insurance definitely makes me feel a lot better about driving. I’m confident in my ability to drive, that’s not at all what I’m worried about. It’s the other drivers on the road that concern me when I’m driving.
When I initially signed up for car insurance, it certainly was no easy task. It took a lot of research and discussing options with many insurance agencies to figure out what would best suit me. One website that seems to be the best at allowing you to compare car insurance and see what prices and features work well with your lifestyle is BeatThatQuote.com. The website has a very clean and organized look to it, so you won’t have to click through mazes of links to get where you need to go. And if you’re in the market for it, you can even discuss cheap home insurance with them. Having home insurance can definitely save a person thousands of dollars if a flood or fire were to occur, essentially destroying all of the owner’s property.
